The time to prove any claim is undoubtedly here. Making a claim of origin, provenance or ownership without being able to back it up has always been a problem plaguing the spirits industry. Now we’re seeing more and more new standards coming in across the US and UK which mean that vague, unverified claims not only count for very little, they count against you. Legislation is now catching up with consumer and industry demand for tighter regulation and greater transparency. The time to prove any claim is undoubtedly here. Almost every new standard, label rule and category claim coming to US distillers’ doors in the last couple of years asks not what you did, but whether you can show it. Likewise in the UK, the government just passed the new protected status for English Whisky , joining Scotch, Irish and Welsh Whisky as a recognised member of the UK’s whisky family, with requirements to prove English provenance.

Miami is calling us this August. We’re headed to the American Distilling Institute (ADI) Conference 2026 at the Miami Beach Convention Center this month to show there’s a better way to manage inventory and optimise distillery workflows , and you guessed it, it’s with our modern operating system. It is our fourth year exhibiting at ADI, and you can find us on the expo floor from 18 to 19 August at Booth 649 where our US team will be out in force ready to tell you why choose Proof 8.

Here's what to look for . Right across the US, many distilleries are reviewing the systems they rely on to help run their production, warehousing, inventory and compliance effectively, and crucially, profitably. Cost tracking, traceability and operational visibility are the main topics we’ve come across at every industry event this year stateside, and its conversations around these topics that are pushing many to review their technology options. Many teams are in need of a new system that is easy to transition to, is built for their kind of business and will carry them into their next stage of growth.
