Whisky brings an edge to any cocktail, whether it’s the smoky undertones of an Islay Scotch or the smooth sweetness of a 

. It’s bold and versatile. And unlike other drinks, Whisky doesn’t just fit into cocktails; it defines them. Its smoothness can complement a wide range of ingredients.

If Paddington Bear had a favourite, we know it would be this. Indulgent, yet refreshing, with a hint of stickiness from the marmalade

Recommended whisky: The Glenlivet 15 year old

Ingredients: 2 oz whisky, ¾ oz lemon juice, ½ oz simple syrup, and an egg white, 1 teaspoon of marmalade

Instructions: Shake ingredients with ice, strain, and serve over fresh ice. Garnish with an orange rind twist

Smokey yet sweet and luxurious, it could only be Bourbon for this cocktail.

Ingredients: 2 oz whisky, ½ oz of oak Smoked Honey syrup, 5 dashes Angostura bitters, orange peel

Instructions: Combine all ingredients, add ice and stir. Garnish with an orange twist. And if you have a smoker to hand, now’s the time to get it out.

Recommended whisky: Old Elk Blended Straight Bourbon whiskey

One of the all time classics and for good reason. A rich, sweet blend of whisky that combines perfectly with vermouth and bitters

Ingredients: 2 oz whisky, 1 oz sweet vermouth, 2 dashes bitters, Maraschino cherry and orange peel

Instructions: Stir ingredients with ice, strain into a chilled glass, and garnish with a cherry and orange peel

Recommended whisky: Oxford Artisan Distillery Rye Whisky
